Phone fraud remains one of the most common ways to extract personal data and steal money. This is reported by the National Police of Ukraine, informs UNN.
Details
It is noted that fraudsters can pose as anyone: bank employees, mobile operators, government agencies, etc.
During phone conversations, they skillfully manipulate trust, forcing people to voluntarily disclose confidential data
It is indicated that, in particular, a common scheme is when fraudsters call on behalf of well-known stores and play out one of the typical scenarios:
- "Profitable promotion." They say that the last item is left or there is a big discount just for you.
- "You won a device." They report winning a smartphone or other device. But you need to pay for delivery or tax.
- "A loan was taken out in your name." They scare you that an installment plan or loan is being taken out in your name. Then they help cancel the application and, for example, ask you to provide codes from SMS.
