Russia is building up a group of more than 100,000 troops, and there is a possibility that by early summer they may have some forces to conduct offensive operations, according to the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

There is information that Russia is creating a group of more than 100,000 people, and although not necessarily for an offensive, there is a possibility that by early summer they may have some forces to conduct offensive operations in one of the areas. This was stated by the commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, during a telethon on Friday, UNN reports.

We do not know Russia's plans to the fullest extent. We only know the data they have and what they are creating. They are creating groups - more than 100 thousand. It will not necessarily be an offensive. Perhaps they will use it to replenish their units that are losing their combat capability. But there is a possibility that by the beginning of summer they may have certain forces to conduct appropriate offensive operations on one of the directions

- Pavliuk said in response to a question about whether there is any information to support Russian plans, given that there are now more active rumors that they may try a new offensive in the summer.

"These are the most dire forecasts that such an offensive will take place. I think we will do everything to inflict maximum losses on the enemy, which is what we are doing now, so that all their resources that they are forming are involved in the battle by this time. But we are preparing for a possible different development of the situation," the head of the Land Forces noted.

Pavliuk said that among the military, partners in Europe are well aware of the seriousness of Russian aggression: "They judgmentally understand that Russia will not stop. (...) Therefore, if we fail to hold on to Ukraine, the next country will be a NATO country.
