Ukrainian military provide humanitarian aid to the local population of the Kursk region of Russia. The Ministry of Reintegration confirms that Ukraine strictly adheres to the norms of international humanitarian law in this operation.

The Ukrainian military in the Kursk region provide assistance to the local population with water, food and medicine. The Ukrainian side  strictly adheres to the norms of international humanitarian law in the hostilities in the region of the Russian Federation. This was stated by the Ministry of Reintegration, UNN reports

The Ministry of Reintegration reported that a regular meeting of the Commission on International Humanitarian Law was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. It was devoted to the issue of compliance with international humanitarian law by the Ukrainian side in the hostilities in the Kursk region of Russia.

A representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reportedly spoke about the creation of a military commandant's office and its role in ensuring law and order in the government-controlled territories. 

He noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are providing assistance to the local population with water, food, medicine and medical care.

The participants of the meeting emphasized that Ukraine pays special attention to compliance with international law. To this end, military personnel were trained. 

It is noted that the meeting of the commission was attended by representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

On August 16, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that he and the head of the Sumy RMA, Volodymyr Artyukh, had established the process of forming humanitarian aid for civilians in the territory of the Russian Defense Forces' operation in the Kursk region.
