The company that created the ChatGPT chatbot has announced a new feature that will allow users to search the Internet using artificial intelligence.

A prototype called SearchGPT, whose technology is incorporated into the new ChatGPT search function, was presented by OpenAI in the summer of 2024.
Recently, it became known that this product will use AI to display links to sites for which information is requested. Users will be able to ask additional questions to improve the answers.
Website operators can decide for themselves whether they want to appear in the search results for ChatGPT updates or not, the statement said.

Probably, with the help of an extension for its ChatGPT AI product, OpenAI wants to gain market share and move up in the volume of advertising revenues of the search engine operator Google.
