People's Deputy of Ukraine Yevhen Shevchenko was served a notice of suspicion of treason. UNN reports this with reference to the OGP.

Advisor to the head of the Presidential Office Serhiy Leshchenko saidthat it was MP Yevhen Shevchenko.

"Under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office, the MP was served a notice of suspicion of high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the statement said.

According to the investigation, the MP systematically spread the narratives of the aggressor state in his speeches and interviews. Disseminating specially selected information and using various forms of manipulation, he voiced distorted facts about Ukraine's foreign and domestic political course, influencing the consciousness and opinion of citizens.

"The suspect posted statements in social networks aimed at harming the information security of Ukraine. He distorted facts and events, creating information pretexts for anti-Ukrainian information activities. By such actions, the suspect assisted the aggressor state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine," the statement said.

Currently, prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office have handed the suspect a request for a  measure of restraint in the form of detention.

HUR representative Andriy Yusov stated that People's Deputy Yevgeny Shevchenko, who called on the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi to start a dialogue with Russia, is not an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

On November 7, People's Deputy Shevchenko called on the President of Ukraine to negotiate with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in his Telegram channel.

In addition, Shevchenko advocated the return to the session hall of people's deputies suspected of treason.

In 2022, Shevchenko provided the GUR certificate of the Ministry of Defense as proof that he really serves in intelligence.

The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, responded to the deputy, noting that "some people's deputies seem to have gotten confused in matters of national security, national interests, and the future of the country."

"If in their minds national interests = the defeat of Ukraine, then they are making a big mistake in the interests of the Russian Federation. The plan for the victory of Ukraine, the Peace Formula is the way to justice," Yermak said.
