A moscow court has remanded in absentia International Criminal Court judge Haikel Ben Mahfoud, who issued arrest warrants for former russian defense minister sergei shoigu and valery gerasimov on suspicion of involvement in missile attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities, to custody in absentia. The press service of the Basmanny Court of Moscow reported that Haikel Ben Mahfoud was remanded in absentia under Part 2 of Article 301 of the Criminal Code of the russian federation (illegal arrest or detention in advance). The measure of restraint was chosen from the moment of his possible detention in russia.
