Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk defeated Italian Jasmine Paolini in the Wimbledon quarterfinals and advanced to the tournament semifinals, reports UNN.

Kostyuk won in two sets. The first set ended with a score of 6:3 (0:1; 1:1; 1:2; 2:2; 3:2; 4:2; 4:3; 5:3; 6:3). The second set ended with a score of 6:2 (1:0; 1:1; 2:1; 3:1; 4:1; 4:2; 5:2; 6:2).
In the tournament semifinals, Kostyuk will face the winner of the pair Linda Noskova - Elise Mertens. The match will take place on Thursday, July 9.
It is worth noting that Marta reached the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament for the second time in her career. The first time was a month ago at Roland Garros. Kostyuk also became the second representative of Ukraine to reach the Wimbledon semifinals. Before her, only Elina Svitolina did so in 2019 and 2023.
