In Cherkasy region, a man was served with a notice of suspicion for beating a dog with a stick in the presence of children, the Cherkasy regional prosecutor's office said on Tuesday, UNN reports.

The investigation established that on July 15, in the village of Katerynopil in Cherkasy region, a few meters from the bank of the Hnyly Tikych River, a man in the presence of young children deliberately struck a dog with a wooden stick several times.
A resident of Zvenyhorod district of Cherkasy region was served a notice of suspicion of cruelty to animals committed in the presence of a minor under Part 2 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine
The sanction of this article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to five years with confiscation of the animal.
