Luxembourg additionally allocated €8 million to support Ukraine’s energy sector, bringing its total contribution to €30 million. The funds will be used for equipment for energy companies and to strengthen the resilience of the system.

Luxembourg has additionally allocated €8 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The country's total contribution to the Fund has already reached €30 million, UNN reports, citing the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Details

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal said that the additional contribution to the Fund would enable the continued provision of necessary equipment to energy companies and strengthen the resilience of Ukraine's energy system.

Together with our partners, we continue working to ensure that Ukrainian communities and businesses have electricity and heat despite all the challenges of the war

Additionally

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in spring 2022 with the agreement of the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to counter the consequences of Russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure.

Since the Ukraine Energy Support Fund began operating, it has received grant funding totaling more than €2 billion from 39 foreign sponsors from 26 partner countries and 3 international organizations.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Iceland made an additional contribution of €550,000 to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. Iceland's total contribution amounted to almost €9 million.
