As a result of the enemy attack during the night of August 8, renewed minor oil-product pollution was recorded in Lake Kyrylivske and the Syrets Stream. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), UNN writes.

It is noted that, as a result, all containment booms used to localize the pollution were torn apart.
It was reported that specialists from the municipal enterprise "Pleso" promptly took the necessary measures: removed three sorbing booms from the Syrets Stream; completely restored the containment boom at the mouth of the Syrets Stream; requested assistance from units of the State Emergency Service of Kyiv, which promptly helped restore and securely fasten the large containment (distributing) boom; and collected water samples for further monitoring of the condition of the water bodies.
The boom separates Lake Kyrylivske and helps localize the polluted emulsion in the northern part of the water body, preventing its further spread.
Reminder
On July 4, following a strike on a gas station in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district, more than 350 tons of oil products entered the lake. The Ministry of Economy is coordinating the two-stage cleanup of the water body, including removing the layer of oil and treating it with a sorbent.
