Kyiv will have a Christmas tree this year. The country's main Christmas tree will be set up on St. Sophia Square, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. At the same time, the head of the KCSA Serhiy Popko noted that there will be no major events, fairs or celebrations in the capital on Christmas and New Year's Day. This was reported by UNN.
The main Christmas tree of the country this year, according to tradition, will be set up on St. Sophia Square. This decision was made today by the Defense Council of the capital. (...) Since this year we celebrate Christmas according to the New Julian calendar, the Christmas tree will be set up earlier, by December 6. And, accordingly, it will be taken down earlier - by January 10
The mayor said that "there are no mass events, fairs and entertainment on St. Sophia Square." "If the city's district state administrations plan any festive events in the districts, it will be in compliance with safety rules, in places where there are shelters. And also not at the expense of the Kyiv budget," Klitschko said.

"The responsibility for the installation and maintenance of the main Christmas tree, all the resources and financial support related to this, is assumed by Global Decor LLC," the mayor said.
