Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise has already received more than 200 requests for identification of Ukrainian prisoners of war. The work in this area is carried out jointly with the Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets. This was announced by Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, in his tg channel after a joint meeting at the office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights and the celebration of Ukrainian institutions that are fighting the Russian evil, UNN reports.

The Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise reminded that in April of this year, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ombudsman and the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.

"The parties agreed to cooperate in ensuring guarantees of state protection of constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, in-depth cooperation in the field of technical and information support for expert research on the identification of our military who are missing or in captivity in the territory of the Russian Federation or the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," said Oleksandr Ruvin.

According to him, the positive result of an expert study on the identification of a serviceman is proof of his captivity by the aggressor state. This information can be added to the "Personal Account" of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

"This topic is extremely sensitive. We have received more than 200 appeals, are working on them and passing the results to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. The complexity of the expert's work is not only professional but also moral. We understand how important it is for the families of Ukrainian prisoners of war to have accurate information about their loved ones. Unfortunately, often the materials are not suitable for analysis, and in such cases, a variable answer is impossible. At the same time, each successful identification means that the return of Ukrainian defenders home is one step closer. We appreciate the trust and will make every effort to ensure that the relevant work is as effective as possible," added Oleksandr Ruvin.
