In Kyiv, a discharge of oil products was recorded on Bohatyrske Lake, UNN reports with reference to the Kyiv City State Administration.
Details
At night, on March 16, a leak of oil products occurred at Lake Bohatyrske in the Obolon district of Kyiv, as reported by employees of Pleso, after receiving information from representatives of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv. Inspectors and laboratory staff of the company immediately arrived at the scene to determine the volume and characteristics of the leak.
To prevent further spread of oil products, experts from Pleso installed booms and used a special agent called Ecolan-M, which is designed to clean soil and water bodies from oil contamination. They are gradually increasing the amount of sorbent used, while continuing to monitor the state of the lake. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the pollution of Lake Bogatyrske and collecting all the necessary information.
