Japan will buy equipment for humanitarian demining in Ukraine , which it plans to transfer to the State Emergency Service. This was stated by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, UNN reports.

Details

It is noted that the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) ordered the production of 12 minibuses from the Ukrainian enterprise Cherkasy Bus. The equipment is planned to be transferred to the SES in November this year.

JICA has also ordered the production of 8 trailers for the transportation of demining vehicles from TRANS-AVTO-D.

The trailers are mounted on IVECO trucks at Ukrainian enterprises and then handed over to the SES. The State Emergency Service received four of these trucks in July, and four more are scheduled for delivery in September

- the ministry summarized.

The agency added that the ordered equipment is part of a broader JICA support package for the SES as part of long-term cooperation.

- the Ministry of Economy noted.

As explained by the Ministry, these funds are mainly used to purchase equipment and machinery and build the capacity of mine action in Ukraine.

In particular, in July, Japan handed over four demining vehicles to the SESU

Recall

Japan plans to provide Ukraine with a $3.3 billion loan as part of a $50 billion financial support package from the Group of Seven countries, to be repaid with proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
