Iran’s Persian Gulf Administration (PGSA) on Sunday published a list of "non-compliant vessels" that may face restrictions on passage through the Strait of Hormuz, including fines, detention, seizure or confiscation. Newsweek reported this, writes UNN.

The PGSA said that the list would include vessels violating Iran’s transit rules for passage through the strait. Violating vessels may in the future be banned from passing through the waterway or fined.
Since mid-March, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been inspecting foreign vessels before they pass through Iranian waters. The vessels must complete an established procedure and pay a fee for maritime services.

Iranian authorities say that these are not tariffs, but payment for services, including navigational assistance, vessel insurance and environmental protection measures, which Iran carries out jointly with Oman.
The list is not yet final
The PGSA separately warned that not only direct violators could be placed on the blacklist. Vessels carrying out transshipment or "ship-to-ship" operations with ships included on the list may also be added to it.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that after defeating Iran, Washington could declare the Strait of Hormuz to be U.S. territory. Iran rejected the idea. Against this backdrop, the PGSA’s new measures became another step by Tehran toward establishing control over shipping through the strategic waterway.
