According to Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, the talks, which took place on Monday, were "constructive and forward-looking."
During the meeting, Doval emphasized that stable, predictable, and constructive relations between the two neighboring states would help strengthen trust and better mutual understanding.
Beijing stated that relations are emerging from a "low point"
As reported by China's Foreign Ministry, Wang Yi noted that bilateral relations are "gradually emerging from a low point and returning to the path of recovery and improvement."
The sides also discussed the latest developments in relations between the countries, but the details of the talks were not disclosed.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of attempts by New Delhi and Beijing to normalize relations after the 2020 border conflict, which resulted in casualties among military personnel of both countries.
The Chinese foreign minister also stated that the border issue should not negatively affect the overall state of bilateral relations. According to him, the countries should intensify cooperation in the areas of trade, finance, law enforcement, and media.
