At the "Astei" customs post of the Zakarpattia Customs, contraband of elite perfumery was discovered. The estimated value of the seized goods exceeds 500 thousand hryvnias. This is reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, UNN reports.

At the "Astei" customs post of the Zakarpattia Customs, located on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, customs officers discovered an undeclared batch of foreign-made perfume products. According to preliminary data, the estimated value of the goods exceeded 500 thousand hryvnias.
The truck was heading to Ukraine with a consolidated cargo. To undergo customs control, the driver submitted accompanying documents, according to which only clothing and accessories were being transported in the vehicle
However, during a full customs inspection with unloading of the goods, customs officers discovered an undeclared batch of perfume products. Its weight was 52 kilograms.
Among the discovered goods are nearly 170 packages of eau de toilette and perfumed water from well-known global brands, including "Gucci", "Hermès", "Marc-Antoine BARROIS", "Yves Saint Laurent", "Giorgio Armani" and others. A protocol on violation of customs rules was drawn up against the driver under Part 2 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine
Currently, the perfumes have been seized pending a decision on the case and the application of sanctions provided for by law.

According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the level of illegal cigarette trade increased to 19.8% in April 2026. The share of smuggled products decreased by half – to 0.8%.
