At least 13 parishioners were abducted in an attack by armed men on a church in Kogi State, central Nigeria, amid growing instability in the region, a state official said on Wednesday.
Kogi State Commissioner for Information Kingsley Fanwo said the attack on the First ECWA church in the remote Ayetoro-Kiri area on Sunday sparked a shootout between the attackers and local hunters hired by the state as a first line of defense.
