Law enforcement officers have notified the driver of a Nissan Murano of suspicion in a fatal traffic accident in the Mykolaiv region. The accident occurred on July 4 on the "Odesa – Melitopol – Novoazovsk" highway and claimed the lives of 12 people. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine, according to UNN.

According to the police, the traffic accident occurred on July 4 involving a passenger minibus Mercedes Sprinter, a Volvo truck, and a Nissan Murano on the "Odesa – Melitopol – Novoazovsk" highway. As a result of the accident, the 49-year-old driver and 11 passengers of the minibus died. Six more people were injured and are under medical supervision. Among the injured is a 15-year-old girl.
Law enforcement officers determined that the accident was caused by the driver of the Nissan Murano creating an emergency situation by driving into the oncoming lane relative to the minibus. Police located him and stopped him at the exit from Mykolaiv. The driver was a 45-year-old resident of another region. Today, July 5, investigators from the investigative department of the regional police headquarters, under the procedural supervision of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, notified the detainee of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving vehicles, resulting in the death of several people.
