In occupied Mariupol, developers are planning to build multi-storey buildings with mortgages on 15 land plots - the relevant orders were signed by the leader of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" Denis Pushilin. Mariupol residents are outraged on social media, as the invaders have turned the city into a place of profit, where they are building commercial housing for sale, the Mariupol City Council writes, UNN reports.

In Mariupol, 15 land plots were transferred without bidding for the construction of houses. The order was signed by the leader of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" Denis Pushilin. The developers plan to build multi-storey buildings on all the plots under a mortgage," the Mariupol City Council reports on its Telegram page.

Mariupol residents were outraged on social media:

People have surviving houses! Have you settled this issue with them?" (...) Again for sale, and when will they rebuild for people?

- the city council quotes comments from residents of the Russian-occupied city.

It is now known that construction is planned on Myru, Metallurgiv, Kuindzhi, Hretska, Metropolytska, and Fontanna avenues. However, it is emphasized that instead of the promised reconstruction of destroyed houses, they are building commercial housing for sale, which only Russians can buy.

Mariupol residents are not just being left without apartments. The occupiers are changing addresses for new buildings. As a result, residents of the dismantled buildings, which are being replaced by mortgage housing, lose their rights. And people are left with nothing

- said the Mariupol City Council.
