In the Lviv region, a 38-year-old man is suspected of smuggling Apple equipment worth over UAH 35 million. In specially equipped hiding places in the car, customs officers found 501 iPhones, 211 headphones, and 117 wristwatches. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, writes UNN.

According to the investigation, a Renault Trafic car driven by a 38-year-old resident of Lviv arrived at the customs control zone of the Lviv Customs. To avoid declaring goods and paying customs duties, the man chose the simplified customs control lane - the "green corridor" - when crossing the state border.
During the inspection of the car, customs officers discovered specially equipped - three camouflaged openings in the vehicle's floor: two under the driver's and passenger's seats, and another behind the driver's seat. For concealment, they were covered with metal plates upholstered in fabric.
In the hiding places, law enforcement officers found a batch of Apple brand electronics: 501 iPhones, 211 headphones, and 117 smartwatches. The estimated value of the seized equipment is over UAH 35 million
Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the man has been notified of suspicion of smuggling (Part 2 of Article 201-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
At the request of prosecutors, the seized electronics have been placed under arrest.
