In Lviv, a man fired a shotgun and then threatened a girl with a weapon; he was detained — he turned out to be a 40-year-old former military serviceman, the National Police reported on Thursday, writes UNN.

The police received a report that in Lviv on Shevchenko Street, an unknown person fired about 9 shots into the air with a shotgun, got into a Chrysler Grand Voyager car, and headed towards Yavoriv on July 1 at about 23:30.
"As a result of the incident, no one was injured; later, information came that in the village of Birky, the driver of the same car threatened a girl with a weapon," the police said.
The police immediately began searching for the shooter.
"Law enforcement officers identified the offender, who turned out to be a 40-year-old resident of the Zaporizhzhia region, a former military serviceman," the police said.
Within a few hours, as stated, police tracked him down and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
"During a search of the detainee's car, police discovered and seized a pump-action shotgun and ammunition for it," the statement reads.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism committed with the use of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the issue of notifying him of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
