In Kyiv's Sviatoshynskyi district, patrol officers detained a man who was walking around with a pistol in his hands while intoxicated. This was reported by the Patrol Police of Ukraine, according to UNN.
Today, concerned citizens reported hooliganism in the Sviatoshynskyi district. Eyewitnesses described a suspicious man walking down the street intoxicated with a pistol in his hands.
Patrol officers promptly arrived at the specified address and found a person matching the description. Law enforcement officers detained the man and conducted a superficial search. They found an object resembling a weapon on him.
An investigative and operational group was called to the scene to further clarify all circumstances of the incident.

On April 18, a 58-year-old native of Moscow opened fire in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, killing five people, after which he barricaded himself in a supermarket and held hostages. He used a registered firearm. At the same time, a fire broke out in the apartment where the attacker was registered.
Subsequently, two more people died in the hospital.
The shooter was neutralized.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 3 of Article 258 (terrorist act resulting in human casualties) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the shooting of civilians and hostage-taking in the capital.
Also, criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the improper performance of official duties by police officers during the terrorist act in the capital on April 18, 2026. The legal qualification of the criminal offense is Part 3 of Article 367 (official negligence resulting in grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
All actions of law enforcement officers at the moment of critical threat to citizens' lives, including the episode with leaving a minor child in danger and the untimely cessation of the attacker's actions, will receive a proper legal assessment, reported Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
