In Kyiv, a former official of the Kyiv Scientific and Methodological Center will face trial, suspected of causing damage during the reconstruction of the cell of the Florivsky Monastery. This was reported by the Kyiv police, according to UNN.
Details
According to the investigation, a contract was concluded between the communal institution and a private company for construction, restoration, and repair work.
After the completion of the work, the official, as stated by the police, signed documentation that indicated inflated volumes of work performed and their cost.
"The reporting documents deliberately overstated the scope of work and their cost, which led to an overpayment of budget funds," the police reported.
As a result, more than UAH 15 million was transferred to the contractor's account, of which UAH 666 thousand was an overpayment.
Law enforcement officers note that the accused has already compensated for the damage caused and returned the funds to the budget.
He is charged with improper performance of official duties. The sanction of the article provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment.
