On the night of August 21, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a position of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system near the town of Novoshakhtynsk in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, which is used by Russia to strike Ukraine. As noted, after the strike, explosions were observed at the designated targeting points. The accuracy of the strike is being investigated.
"It should be noted that the Russian invaders also use S-300 systems to strike at peaceful cities of Ukraine, destroying residential buildings and terrorizing the civilian population," the General Staff said.
They also added that the joint combat work of all components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces on important targets of the Russian armed forces continues.
Earlier, the governor of Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, said that the air defense forces allegedly destroyed the missile over the region, and no casualties were reported.
