Reportedly, due to the fire in the Eiffel Tower, all people were evacuated and the attraction was closed. Rescue services arrived at the scene and began fighting the fire, and tourists were taken away from the famous symbol of the French capital.
The fire is believed to have started in the elevator shaft between the first and second floors of the tower. One of the eyewitnesses wrote on the social network X: "There is a fire in the Eiffel Tower now. The monument has just been evacuated. The rescue service has set up a cordon, but firefighters can't reach the fire.
A journalist from Boulevard Voltaire said: "About 1,200 people were evacuated. According to reports, firefighters have determined that the fire was caused by an overheating cable.
It is reported that the fire has now been brought under control and extinguished. Presumably, the fire was caused by the device overheating near the cable of one of the elevators.
