The FBI is concerned about the possibility of a terrorist attack in the United States, similar to the one that killed dozens of people at the Russian concert hall Crocus City Mall last month, said Bureau Director Christopher Wray on Thursday at a meeting of the House of Representatives, UNN reports with reference to Reuters.
"As I look back on my career in law enforcement, it's hard to imagine a time when so many threats to public safety and national security have occurred simultaneously," said Christopher Wray.
According to him, the possibility of a coordinated attack here at home, similar to the ISIS-K attack we saw at the Rossiya concert hall a couple of weeks ago, is a growing concern.
In addition, Wray plans to persuade lawmakers to extend the US surveillance program, which expires this month, calling it an indispensable tool in the fight against US adversaries. A moderate overhaul of the program was blocked in the House on Wednesday amid concerns from members of both parties that it did not go far enough in limiting the government's surveillance powers.

An attack on a concert hall in a Moscow suburb on March 22 killed at least 144 people. Militants from an affiliate of the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack, but Russian President Vladimir Putin, without providing evidence, tried to blame Ukraine.
