IPSOS exit poll data show that the national conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party won the local elections in Poland, gaining 33.7% of support. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN .

Details

The Law and Justice party was ahead of the Civic Coalition (KO), which had 31.9%.

The other parties in the government, the center-right Third Way and Livica, garnered 13.5% and 6.8%, respectively.

According to Reuters, if the results are confirmed, it will dash Tusk's hopes that his KO group will take first place in the elections regardless of its partners in the ruling coalition.

Although PiS was ahead of KO, it lagged far behind the aggregate result of the three groups that make up the coalition government.

Poles voted to elect members of 16 regional assemblies, whose composition roughly reflects the support of the main parties, as well as thousands of local councillors and mayors.

The official election results will be presented by the National Election Commission.
