"Our European colleagues are turning to us and saying that they want to receive gas other than Russian gas through Turkey," Bayraktar said.

Noting that Turkey has an annual consumption capacity of 60 billion cubic meters but, thanks to investments made, has achieved infrastructure capable of supplying 70–80 billion cubic meters of gas, Bayraktar shared information that "one of Europe’s requests is whether we can export Turkish gas from the Sakarya gas field".

Clarifying the commercial and legal aspects concerning the gas, Bayraktar said: "Even if the origin of any incoming gas is unclear, if it is to become the subject of trade and serve as a legal basis, we, as Turkey, are obliged to provide them with documents showing which country this gas belongs to".
