It is noted that, according to S&P Global, which publishes these data, the price of Dated Brent oil, bought and sold in the North Sea, reached $141.37.
This is a sign of a growing gap between futures contracts and various segments of physical markets that set prices for increasingly scarce supplies.
The publication indicates that, unlike Dated Brent, futures for benchmark Brent oil, traded on Intercontinental Exchange Inc., are still below 2022 levels, trading around $107 on Thursday. This is due to the fact that the value of Dated Brent reflects the price of oil for a closer delivery period.
