Details
So, last month, two German fishermen during a regular pike fishing trip on one of the lakes in Bavaria set a new German record by catching a giant catfish.
Fishermen used perch as bait and initially did not expect such a large specimen at all. The fight with the catfish lasted about an hour, and they had to make a lot of effort to pull it up to the boat. After the catfish was pulled ashore, it turned out that its length is an impressive 281 CM.,
It is noted that fishermen had to lift the catfish on a loader to accurately determine its weight. As a result, it turned out that the catfish weighs 96 kg.
The agency adds that this" giant specimen " is not only a record length in Germany, but also one of the largest in Europe. Only a few fish of this size have been caught on the European continent – mostly in the Italian Po River.
