Brovary, Pavlohrad, and Chervonohrad: 5 cities and over a hundred villages may be renamed in Ukraine

Ukraine plans to rename 5 cities and 104 villages as part of its decolonization efforts, including Chervonohrad to Sheptytskyi, Pavlohrad to Matviyiv, and Brovary to Brovary.

Ukraine may rename a number of cities and villages in different regions of Ukraine. Among other things, Brovary, Pavlohrad and Chervonohrad will receive new names. This was reported by UNN with reference to Roman Lozynsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning .

According to him, five cities and 104 villages/settlements will be renamed as part of the decolonization procedure.

Deputies of the Novomoskovsk City Council in Dnipropetrovs'k region decided on a new name for the city23.01.24, 20:14

Among other things, the following renames are planned:

  • Chervonohrad - Sheptytsky;
  • The southern one is Port Annental;
  • Pavlohrad - Matviyiv;
  • Sinelnykove - Ridnopillia;
  • Brovary - Brovary.

Important

It is worth noting that this decision is not final. Members of the Verkhovna Rada will still have to vote for it.
