In Konotop, Sumy region, the body of a 94-year-old woman was discovered under the rubble of a building hit by a Russian UAV. This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, according to UNN.
The woman who died as a result of the Russian attack on Konotop was 94 years old – she had just celebrated her birthday on Sunday. Two days later, her life was taken by a Russian attack. She lived in the entrance of the building that was struck by the Russian UAV. The enemy strike left her no chance of survival,
Another 11 people were injured as a result of the Russian strike on Konotop. Most of them are elderly people.
Everyone is receiving the necessary medical assistance.
It is also reported that prosecutors in the Sumy region are documenting the consequences of the massive enemy attack on Konotop.
On May 20, 2026, from 01:20 to 04:30, the enemy launched a massive strike, according to preliminary data, with 12 UAVs on the city of Konotop.
As of the morning, damage has been recorded to 2 private houses, 3 apartment buildings, 5 administrative buildings, and vehicles.
Under the procedural guidance of the Konotop District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the commission of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
