While Biden has been quarantined due to COVID-19, a growing number of Democratic lawmakers are calling for his departure. Among those who have reportedly expressed concern are prominent figures such as former President Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Senator Martin Heinrich, a Democrat from New Mexico, has also publicly stated that he prefers Biden to withdraw from the campaign in the best interest of the country.
The situation escalated after Trump was attacked in Pennsylvania. Despite this, both Biden and Trump have called for a unification and an end to aggressive rhetoric, although they continue to attack each other.
During his speech, Trump mentioned the death of former fire chief Cory Comptroller and criticized the Biden administration for inflation, foreign policy, and immigration. He also mentioned the “crazy” Nancy Pelosi and accused the Democrats of destroying the country.
Nevertheless, Biden said that Americans had already seen this kind of Trump and rejected him four years ago.
