Bad weather has hit the Abruzzo region in Italy, and the Pescara river has flooded, although the situation is now somewhat improving, ANSA reported, writes UNN.

As stated, there are signs of a slight improvement in the condition of the Pescara River, whose level remains high but is gradually decreasing after the critical situations of recent days.
However, maximum attention continues to be paid to road traffic, which is still severely affected by floods and the massive closure of roads, bridges, and underpasses. This announcement was made by the Rescue Coordination Center, which has been operating in the Pescara prefecture since 10:00 PM on March 31.
Monitoring of the emergency caused by the bad weather that has affected the area in recent days continues uninterruptedly.
The reconnaissance carried out made it possible to contain the consequences of landslides and mudslides in a number of municipalities. In one of the cities, an army tracked vehicle reached a hotel cut off by an avalanche.
The flooding of the Pescara, Giardino, and Aterno rivers in Pescara, Popoli-Terme, and Spoltore also caused problems. In the latter municipality, approximately 80 families were evacuated.
Particular attention is paid to monitoring water discharges from the Penne and Alanno dams, the volumes of which gradually decreased overnight.
Water supply disruptions have also been resolved in several municipalities in the Pescara area. Work is also underway to restore electricity and water supplies.
