Today, on August 4, animal rights activists and wildlife lovers in many countries of the world can join the events on the occasion of the International Smoky Leopard Day, UNN writes.

The smoky leopard is a mammal of the cat family. The animal has a body length of 70-100 cm, and its tail is sometimes longer than the body and reaches up to 92 cm. Males are much heavier than females, weighing up to 21 kilograms, while the heaviest female weighs no more than 15 kilograms.

The habitats of smoky leopards include China, the eastern part of the Himalayan foothills, Bangladesh, Thailand and surrounding areas.

Due to uncontrolled deforestation and poaching, smoky leopards are on the verge of extinction. These animals are listed in the Red Book. Currently, there are less than ten thousand smoky leopards in the wild.

Champagne lovers can celebrate his birthday with a glass of this drink.

It is believed that it was on August 4, 1668, that Father Pierre Perignon, a monk of the Abbey of Autevilliers, asked his brother abbots to taste the sparkling wine with bubbles and light silver foam that he had invented.

At the beginning of the 18th century, champagne went on sale. Various manufacturers tried to reproduce the champagne recipe.

According to the Madrid Agreement of 1891, only sparkling wine produced in the French region of Champagne can be called champagne.

It is interesting that the quality of champagne is determined by the size of the bubbles - the smaller they are, the better the drink.

Today, many countries also celebrate the Day of Single Working Women. The event was initiated in 2006 by Barbara Payne, an American entrepreneur and writer who was a single woman and, together with her friends, created the Single Working Women's Partnership Network.

The purpose of today's event is to recognize the economic and social impact of single working women and celebrate their achievements.

The Single Working Women's Day also emphasizes the importance of gender equality in the workplace and equal pay for men and women.

In addition, this day is an important reminder of the need to support single mothers who may experience financial and emotional difficulties as they are forced to combine work and raising children.

According to the church calendar, today is the Day of Remembrance of the Seven Holy Martyrs of Ephesus.

According to legend, during the intensification of the persecution of Christians, the young men Maximilian, Iamvlich, Martinian, John, Dionysius, Constantine, and Antoninus hid in a cave. By order of Emperor Decius, the entrance to the cave was walled up.

It is believed that the young men did not die of hunger and thirst, but fell into a strange dream. When the entrance to the cave was opened more than a hundred years later, the young men returned to life.

Maksym, Ivan, Denis, Konstantin, Anton, Martyn, Evdokia, Daria, and Irina celebrate their name days today.
