Transcarpathian rescuers rescued a man who nearly froze to death in the mountains in 12-degree temperatures, UNN reports citing the State Emergency Service.
Details
A 37-year-old tourist from Kyiv started his journey from the village of Yasinia in Zakarpattia. He passed through the Shysa valley and after spending the night went to Mount Petros. However, he did not follow the planned route, and the hiker was not prepared for the weather conditions - the temperature in the mountains dropped to 12 degrees below zero.
Mountain rescuers from the village of Yasinya came to help. However, despite the cold, the tourist decided to continue his journey. Thanks to the updated coordinates, rescuers from Lazeshchyna found him near the Holovcheska valley.
The man was taken downstairs, where he was handed over to doctors with suspected frostbite on his feet.
