North Korean soldiers who were deployed to Russia to support the aggressive war against Ukraine could officially state that they were studying when entering Russia. In the third quarter of this year, 3,765 North Koreans traveled to Russia “for training purposes.” This is a record number.
This “coincides with reports of North Korean troops being deployed in the country,” the report says.
Previously, the number of North Korean students in Russia was much lower - for example, in April of this year, according to the Russian authorities, there were 130 of them.
