Over the past three years, UAH 166 billion has been spent on direct support for internally displaced persons, including UAH 41 billion this year. The program will continue in 2025. About UAH 50 billion is planned for direct support of IDPs. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk during a meeting of the All-Ukrainian Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, UNN reports .

If we take direct payments to IDPs, they remain one of the largest budget programs that has been operating for the third year in a row. Over the past three years, the state has made direct expenditures to support our internally displaced persons in the amount of UAH 166 billion. This year it is 41 billion. We want to reassure our IDPs that the program will continue in 2025. About UAH 50 billion is planned for direct support of IDPs

- Vereshchuk said.

She also noted that the main problem is housing, both for IDPs and veterans.

“This year, this is an unprecedented amount in terms of percentage of our budget - UAH 10 billion was allocated for housing for almost 4,500 veteran families, as well as UAH 5.7 billion in cash compensation for housing for veterans from among the IDPs. In total, this year, UAH 31 billion was paid out as compensation for housing to our IDPs and veterans in direct budget expenditures. The programs are planned for the next year and will continue. The compensation will be paid,” said Vereshchuk.

About one thousand Ukrainians have returned to the temporarily occupied territories .

Earlier, MP Maksym Tkachenko stated that 150,000 IDPs had returned to the occupation, but later denied this information himself.

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets stated that internally displaced persons need additional protection from the state, there are shortcomings on the part of the executive branch of power regarding IDPs.

Lubinets said that the Ombudsman's Office plans to organize a working group with the team of the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov.

In the summer, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets criticized the government's policy on internally displaced persons (IDPs), noting that the current IDP Strategy until 2025 contains declarative tasks that are difficult to assess.
