Lava fountains were recorded with the 51st eruption of the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii, USA, after nearly three weeks of calm in the Halemaʻumaʻu crater, reports UNN citing Fox Weather.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the 51st episode of lava eruption began at 8:30 a.m. Hawaiian time on Wednesday.
The height of the lava fountains quickly jumped to 295 meters, and the flow rate was approximately 305 cubic meters per second.
As the volcano began to erupt actively, the U.S. National Weather Service reported that the smoke plume from the eruption reached an altitude of 5,500 meters above sea level, and that a small amount of Pele's hair (a thread-like form of lava) fell along the highway outside the national park.
"Fountaining episodes typically last 12 hours or less, but ash can remain in the air longer depending on wind and weather conditions," the U.S. Geological Survey stated.
A video released by the USGS shows lava flowing steadily from the summit, gradually intensifying over time.
The USGS warned that low-level winds are moving the lower part of the smoke plume southwest of the summit, causing tephra to fall below the eruption inversion level, meaning that not everything rose but settled in the lower layers of the atmosphere, typically below a few kilometers.
As the volcanic eruption continued, the U.S. National Weather Service issued a special weather advisory for the region due to the threat of ashfall in strong winds.
