Four men are suspected of kidnapping a 29-year-old foreigner in Kyiv, forcing him to transfer bitcoins and killing him. Police have detained the suspects, and they face life in prison, the Kyiv National Police said on Monday, UNN reported.

"A foreigner was kidnapped, the crypto was 'knocked out' by force and strangled - Kyiv police solved a brazen murder," the police wrote on Telegram.
The information about the abduction of the man was reportedly received by the Kyiv police around midnight. Residents of a house in the Solomyansky district heard screams and saw several unidentified persons beating and forcing a man into a car.
Immediately, a special police operation was launched in Kyiv and Kyiv region to search for and detain the kidnappers.
"The police found that four men aged 24 to 29 were involved in the kidnapping of the 29-year-old foreigner, who were detained as a result of a special operation," the statement said.
It was established that the offenders were preparing for the crime in advance. "They learned that the man had bitcoins worth several million hryvnias. They tracked down where he lived, waited for him, forced him into a car and took him to an abandoned building in Kyiv region. There, they forced him to transfer bitcoins to their crypto wallet, which were then cashed out, and the man was killed. To hide the traces of the crime, the license plates and appearance of the car were changed, and the body was taken to the forest, where it was buried," the police said.
The police notified the detainees of suspicion of a number of criminal offenses, including premeditated murder for profit, robbery and illegal imprisonment committed by an organized group of people.
The defendants face life imprisonment.
