Today, on Harmatna Street in Kyiv, a patrol police crew stopped a car after the driver failed to respond to a demand to stop, prompting the patrol officers to begin a pursuit. The driver of the car, who had been stopped for a traffic violation, punched a patrol officer in the face during the altercation. Before that, the patrol officers noticed a Honda traveling in a lane for public transport. The driver failed to respond to a demand to stop, after which the crew began pursuing the vehicle
According to him, the car was stopped on Harmatna Street. During the interaction, the driver and passenger behaved aggressively and used obscene language toward the law enforcement officers, and at one point physically attacked the police officers.
A fragment of the video is now being widely circulated online, and an attempt is being made to present the situation differently from how it actually happened. See in the video how it happened. I understand the general situation: the war, people are exhausted and tired, and the men are returning from combat areas with varying degrees of injuries and a heightened sense of justice. But there must be an understanding that there is an environment in which people perform their jobs. And regardless of the circumstances, there must be mutual respect and a normal attitude toward such routine situations as today's
Biloshytskyi added that patrol officers serve side by side with all their brothers- and sisters-in-arms in the Defense Forces and deeply respect the military. There are also many wounded personnel with varying degrees of severity of injuries in patrol police units. But this does not give anyone the right to punch someone in the face and swear at them, especially a police officer performing official duties.
Let us respect one another
