A positive decision to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU should be made in view of the implementation of all recommendations. Postponing the decision would mean that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin influenced it. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference in Norway on Wednesday on the eve of the EU summit, according to a UNN correspondent.
The president answered a journalist's question, "Do you have a plan B if you do not start membership negotiations?"
"There is a blockage from Hungary, and this is a fact. On our part, we have done everything, absolutely everything. We have fulfilled all the recommendations of the European Commission. All the recommendations of our partners. In other words, Ukraine has done everything to not give any chance to this or that country to block the start of negotiations. Therefore, the only question here is the resilience of the EU countries," Zelenskyy replied.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Russia has not had a single victory. "They could not do anything, they could not occupy a single village, I'm not talking about cities," the President said. However, Russia began to cooperate with other countries and put pressure on them.
"Therefore, if there is no positive result, the question is not about plan B, we have only one plan. It is our choice, the choice of our people to be in the EU. Therefore, if there is no positive result, it will mean that Putin vetoed this decision," the President summarized.
