President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not sign a law changing the penalties for forest use, which journalists have dubbed the "firewood law." This was reported to BBC Ukraine by presidential advisor Dmytro Lytvyn, UNN reports.
"The President will not sign this law," he said.

The "Firewood Law" is the name given in recent days to the document adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on October 10, which aims to increase responsibility for illegal felling of trees and wood transactions. This is because it contains an article that directly affects ordinary people who stock up on firewood for the winter. Right now, Ukrenergo is warning of a hard winter and possible blackouts.
