President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that in the coming days he will talk with representatives of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew against the background of the adoption of a bill banning the activities of religious organizations associated with the Russian Federation. He said this in a video message, UNN reports.
"Today I would like to recognize the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The law on our spiritual independence was adopted. This is what we discussed with members of the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations. And the other day I will also talk with representatives of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. We will continue to strengthen Ukraine and our society," Zelensky said.

The Verkhovna Rada passed bill No. 8371 banning the activities of religious organizations affiliated with the Russian Federation. The law will enter into force in 30 days, but UOC-MP communities will have 9 months to break ties with the Russian Orthodox Church.
