In Ukraine, in 2025, outpatient rehabilitation departments should be available in every community where there is a medical institution. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his speech in the Verkhovna Rada during the presentation of the "Resilience Plan", UNN reports.
"The tenth point of the Sustainability Plan is the 'Heroes' Policy. We all understand what things are needed. Regulation of the transition from military service to veteran status. Involvement of veterans in public service. Programs to support veterans and families of our soldiers. Full integration of veterans into social and economic life. Education for veterans. Support in the education of our soldiers' children. Proper rehabilitation after injuries and captivity. Proper communication with the families of fallen soldiers and missing persons. Proper support," Zelensky said.
He noted that everything should provide an institutional guarantee that the state and society are always close to the veteran and his family. And this needs to be fully and systematically implemented.
What is already being done? The first is the health of veterans. Rehabilitation. Rehabilitation departments and mental health centers are being set up in every cluster and supercluster hospital. The task for government officials and local authorities: in the 25th year, outpatient rehabilitation departments should be in every community where there is a medical facility
He noted that starting next year, family doctors will also receive additional payment for declarations signed with veterans.
Second, preparatory work has been completed to launch the veteran's assistant program. The necessary regulations have been adopted, funds have been allocated in the budget, and next year it is planned to train and pay 11,000 veteran support specialists.Third, a network of veteran spaces. There should be such a space in every district of our country. At least 80 new veterans' spaces will be built in communities next year
The fourth, according to the President, is economic and social support programs for veterans.
"One of the key issues is owning a home. This year, despite all the difficulties, almost 4.5 thousand veterans' families were provided with housing assistance. We have a special program to honor the Heroes of Ukraine. 274 families of Heroes have been provided with apartments," the President said.
"The fifth is educational programs. This year, 2200 veterans received new education at vocational education centers. Next year, we will continue such training programs. From January 1 of the new year, a program to support education for veterans' children will be launched. This is very important. And in the special annexes to this point of the Sustainability Plan, there should be a significant number and quality of programs to support veteran policy," Zelensky said.
