Operational officers of the Chop Border Guard Detachment detained a 60-year-old Transcarpathian in Uzhhorod district who was smuggling a citizen of Ukraine of military age from Ukraine to Slovakia. It is noted that at a certain time the men met at a gas station, from where they moved towards the state border. While driving, they were stopped by border guards. Having noticed the law enforcement officers, the smuggler ran away. After several hours of searching, the offender was found on the outskirts of Uzhhorod.
The Transcarpathian was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine". The Uzhhorod City District Court imposed on him a measure of restraint in the form of nightly house arrest. The investigative actions are ongoing.
