Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak called the media's widespread information that Ukraine is allegedly preparing for elections in the country in the summer absolute nonsense. He said in an interview with Corriere Delta Sera, reports UNN.

"Absolute nonsense. It is impossible to plan elections while hostilities are ongoing. First we need to end the war, only then can we vote," Yermak said at the request of a journalist to comment on The Economist's information that Ukraine is preparing for elections in the summer.

Earlier, the Central Election Commission explained that in order to hold local elections in Ukraine under today's realities, changes are needed in the legislation on martial law. The decision rests with the Verkhovna Rada, which will determine the list of communities where elections are impossible.
