Yesterday, the occupiers struck at Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region, resulting in deaths and power outages in dozens of streets. The head of Kupyansk district administration Andriy Kanashevych said this during a telethon, UNN reports .

Details

Yesterday, the occupants fired on Kupyansk and the neighboring settlements of Kupyansk district. In the evening, the enemy used multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and artillery to strike the city. As a result of the shelling, one person was killed on the spot and another died of severe injuries.

After that, the occupants shelled other streets of Kupyansk, resulting in the loss of power to 10 streets. It is possible to restore power supply in Kupyansk, but it is currently impossible on the left bank of the Oskil River.

We need to use very large forces, and the security situation does not allow us to do so. No one will risk people's lives

- said Kanashevych.

According to him, about 1700 people remain in those settlements on the left bank. There are no children among them. The remaining people are mostly elderly, who for various reasons refuse to evacuate despite the constant shelling. However, they may change their minds if the intensity of the attacks increases.

Regarding the situation in Dvorichanska community, where about 900 people remain, the local authorities are informing residents about the possibility of evacuation and are ready to assist in organizing the departure.

The situation in these areas remains difficult, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to maintain control over the territory.

Recall

We already know two people were killed as a result of Russian shelling of a residential sector of Kupyansk on Monday evening.
