Today is dedicated to important medical initiatives, folk traditions of the beginning of the harvest, and also has several unofficial holidays to lift the mood, writes UNN.
World Allergy Day
This is an important medical initiative conducted jointly with the World Health Organization. Its goal is to draw attention to the problem of allergic diseases, which today affect a huge part of the planet's population. The day reminds of the importance of timely diagnosis, prevention, and support for people suffering from asthma, food, or seasonal allergies.
Savor the Comic, Unplug the Drama Day (SCUD Day)
A wonderful psychological holiday that calls for at least one day to give up unnecessary worries, toxic arguments, and "drama" in relationships. Instead, it is proposed to find time for humor, relaxation, and positive emotions that help better cope with stress.
Math 2.0 Day
A holiday that celebrates the intersection of mathematics and modern technology, uniting programmers, engineers, and scientists.
Day of Remembrance of the Great Martyr Procopius
According to the new (New Julian) calendar, which the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church have adopted, today they honor Saint Procopius (4th century), who suffered martyrdom for the Christian faith during the reign of Emperor Diocletian.
In folk tradition, this day was often called "Procopius the Reaper." It was believed that from this day the most active phase of the harvest begins. According to custom, the first cut ears of grain were brought home, consecrated, and kept in the corner of honor as a talisman.
